The Seattle Seahawks have made some big moves since the start of free agency, but it's unfair to judge the team's offseason until the 2025 NFL draft is complete. With additional picks in the second and third rounds, the Seahawks have a chance to walk away with multiple starters.
The team has several holes to fill on offense, but it's unclear which position Seattle will target in Round 1. Should the Seahawks take the best offensive lineman available or look to give quarterback Sam Darnold another weapon?
That's the question many have leading up to the draft, and NFL.com has the answer. In a new 2025 NFL mock draft, Adam Rank made each pick based on what he thinks the team should do. Rank suggested the Seahawks take Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.
"Do we reach on an offensive lineman here for you, Seahawks? Because Gray Zabel would be great on the interior of the offensive line," wrote Rank. "Maybe you could trade down a bit to add some capital and still get your guy. Instead, though, let's go with the stick-and-pick option: Egbuka, a former teammate of Jaxon Smith-Njigba at Ohio State."
Egbuka isn't getting as much hype as some of the other wide receiver prospects in this year's draft, but his track record suggests he will be a high-level NFL wide receiver. In 2024, he finished with 81 receptions for 1,011 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
While the offensive line is arguably Seattle's top need, the team has five chances to upgrade the trenches in the the first three rounds alone. The Seahawks added an extra second-round pick in the DK Metcalf trade and a third-round pick from the Raiders for quarterback Geno Smith.
Seahawks general manager John Schneider could take the best player available in Round 1 before looking to build the offensive line on Day 2. Since the 2025 NFL draft is just a week away, we won't have to speculate for much longer.
