After The Bachelor Season 29 Finale, Litia Garr Finally Held Grant Ellis Accountable (It Needed To Happen)

The Bachelor's Grant Ellis finally made up his mind and chose a winner for season 29, choosing Juliana Pasquarosa over Litia Garr on the March 24 season finale. The 31-year-old basketball player turned financier narrowed down the bevy of beauties vying for his heart to Litia and Juliana after weeks of group and solo dates on The Bachelor season 29. Fan reaction to this season hasn't been as passionate as seasons past, since Grant has struggled in his role. Some accused Grant of being too nice or not decisive enough, and the season finale reinforced those sentiments.

After The Bachelor Season 29 Finale, Litia Garr Finally Held Grant Ellis Accountable (It Needed To Happen)

Like most reality dating shows, Grant's final choice had some controversy since he spent so much of the season assuring Litia that she was his number one connection. Ultimately, Grant chose Juliana, but Litia got a chance to sit down with Grant and share her thoughts, which was much-needed after the season Grant had. Finally, someone was able to sit him down and directly question his decisions, and who better than Litia to put Grant in the hot seat to answer for his actions?

Grant Chose Juliana

Grant's Pick Was A Shock

Despite telling Litia he loves her, Grant throws a curveball by choosing Juliana. Even during the scenes when Juliana meets Grant's family, Grant still seemed uncertain about whether Juliana was ready to settle down. Juliana and Grant had not told each other they loved each other yet, but Juliana told Grant's mom, Renee, she could see herself falling in love with him. Grant felt like Juliana was holding back, but he understood where she was coming from, given that Grant still was deciding between her and Litia.

There was no question where Litia stood with Grant. She told Grant she loved him, and she assured his family that her intentions with him were pure. I was convinced that Litia would be Grant's pick because it felt like they had the most chemistry after he eliminated Carolina Sofia. Plus, the way Litia and his family seemed to bond made it feel like picking Litia would be a slam dunk.

Litia Called Grant Out

Litia Had Her Moment

After all was said and done and Grant's choice was made, Litia couldn't contain her emotions. As he told her, "I'm sorry, but I'm not your person," Litia looked like she was going to vomit. She asked Grant when his feelings for her changed, but he said that they hadn't. Grant said he did love her he just had a stronger connection with Juliana. Litia's raised brows mimicked those of everyone watching, no doubt.

Grant seemed to stumble when Litia kept pushing him. He apologized over and over, but his reasoning sounded very rehearsed. He told Litia he didn't want her to view him differently, to which she laughed and said, "Well, I do now, for sure. Come on now." The audience watching it live clapped when Litia spoke up for herself.

"You're different than I thought."

When Litia and Grant sat down with host Jesse Palmer, Litia said she's still confused and was blindsided by Grant's decision. She said Grant told her she would be his choice, even up to the night before the final rose ceremony. There was no misinterpreting Grant's words, according to Litia.

Grant’s Defensiveness Proves He Wasn’t Right For The Role

Grant Has Some Growing To Do

Grant seemed bothered by Litia saying she would view him differently. Grant was annoyed she would view him negatively, which is wild because she thought he was going to propose.

"I'm just trying to figure out what best suits me."

Grant and Litia came face-to-face after their segment aired, and Litia laid it all out on the line. She questioned him for continuing to string her along, for raising the stakes with her each week, and for his words to her just before he broke up with her. Litia said Grant needs to be held accountable for all of it. Grant apologizes for being conflicted and making mistakes throughout the process, but his only offering is he's "not perfect."

Litia doesn't let him off the hook, ending with these searing words, "I'm excited for this to be the last time that I talk to you about this. I'm glad that this whole, that last week and that last day, isn't a part of my love story. I know that I deserve someone waking up one morning and knowing without a shadow of a doubt that they're going to choose me. I think every woman deserves that."

Grant still seemed like he needed to redeem himself in Litia's eyes, but why would he need to do that if he was so in love with Juliana? He questioned whether Litia felt like he'd led her on, which, of course, she did. Grant's response to Litia's reaction is even more proof that Grant was never suited for this role on The Bachelor, and if I were Juliana, I'd proceed with extreme caution.
