Adrian Wojnarowski has dropped his last Woj Bomb. And this final one is about himself. So long ESPN and the sports media world and hello to being a college basketball general manager. Personally I didn't know that was it's own role, but the main take-away here is one thing that you can't buy is time, and the 55 year old Wojnarowski would prefer to spend his time pursuing a new passion.
"Thirty-seven years ago, the Hartford Courant gave me my first byline and I never stopped chasing the thrill of it all."This craft transformed my life, but l've decided to retire from ESPN and the news industry. I understand the commitment required in my role and it's an investment that I'm no longer driven to make. Time isn't in endless supply and I want to spend mine in ways that are more personally meaningful."
Wojnarowski, who signed his own contract extension with ESPN in 2022, will walk away from the remaining $20 million he was owed. Best of luck to Woj in this new era of his life.
