The Seattle Seahawks close out the 2024 preseason Saturday against the Cleveland Browns, and then begins the process of paring the roster down from 90 to 53. The cuts must be made by 4pm New York time on Tuesday, August 27, and in the time between now and when the team announces its roster there will certainly be no shortage of debate amongst fans regarding who will or will not make the cut.

With that idea in mind, and as Field Gulls does every year, here is a look at the breakdown by number of players per position the Hawks have kept on their initial 53-man roster during the Pete Carroll and John Schneider era. Of course, with Carroll gone and Mike Macdonald now in place as the head coach, it will soon be time to rename this table as the John Schneider era.

In addition to the number of players per position, the bottom row of the table also includes the positions of players who logged 250 or more special teams snaps for the team during that particular season. With the team looking to replace three of its top six players by special teams snaps from the 2023 campaign, special teams role players could surprise a lot of fans by sneaking in where they otherwise might not be expected.
