Ranking The Top Los Angeles Rams Position Needs

Rams Draft Priority Number One: Tight End

In this day and age, the more weapons you have on the offensive side of the ball, the better. The tight end position is arguably the weakest position group that the Rams have. Potentially losing Hunter Long doesn’t help things either. Potentially using a 1st or 3rd Round pick on a tight-end class that has the potential to be one of the best of all time could add a brand new dimension to an already dangerous offense.

Rams Draft Priority Number Two: Interior Linebacker

With Christian Rozeboom among the Rams free agents, the Rams need some help at the interior linebacker position. The Rams have two other linebackers entering free agency in Michael Hoecht and Troy Reeder. This leaves the Rams with just three prototypical linebackers on the roster who saw the field this past season. Attacking this position in free agency would be the best step forward as the incoming linebacker class is not as strong as in previous years.

Rams Draft Priority Number Three: Tackle

The offensive line is another position that could use some work for the most part as Kevin Dotson was one of the best linemen in the NFC last season and Rob Havenstein played well throughout the season. However, the Rams are potentially losing Alaric Jackson, Joe Noteboom, Conor McDermott, and Dylan McMahon to free agency. The tackle position has several rookies and free agents that would fit well on this team and make a massive impact in the run game.

Rams Draft Priority Number Four: Defensive Back

The LA defense sat at the middle of the pack for the most part last season. One of the weakest aspects of the defense was the secondary. There are many key contributors in the secondary including Cobie Durant, Kamren Kitchens, and Kamren Curl. Yet, there is not a ton of elite play from the secondary. The Rams need to attack the corner position in particular through the draft and/or free agency.

Rams Draft Priority Number Five: Wide Reciever

The Rams have the potential to lose Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, and Tutu Atwell in free agency. This leaves a massive hole in the receiving core behind Cooper Kupp and Puca Nacua. The Rams have arguably one of the best duos in the NFL at the WR position, but not a ton of skill behind them which became evident in the early portion of the season because of injuries. Drafting a receiver in the later rounds of the draft could help the Rams fill out their receiver room nicely.
