Ravens Predicted to Add $90 Million Star Playmaker in Blockbuster Deal

The emergence of wide receiver Zay Flowers has been a key part of the rise of the Ravens' offense in the past two years, but the injury that has kept him out of the postseason thus far is a reminder that Baltimore is decidedly thin at the position.

The Ravens' attempts to add receivers in recent years have not gone well, most recently with the flop trade that brought in little-used Diontae Johnson, who was waived (and later re-signed) after he refused to enter a game. Odell Beckham, DeSean Jackson, Sammy Watkins--the Ravens have tried to find star receivers, but they've always flamed out.

We can assume they'll continue to try, though. And with that in mind, the folks at Bleacher Report brought forth a trade idea that would certainly change the landscape for the Ravens' receivers room.

The Ravens could trade for disgruntled Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, whose $90 million contract has been a weight on Miami's salary cap. From B/R:

"If the Ravens traded for Hill this offseason, they'd field an offense that terrifies opponents. Between Derrick Henry's power on the ground, Hill's speed on the perimeter and Jackson's dynamic playmaking ability under center, they'd be nearly indefensible.

"Hill might have to restructure his contract to make the deal more palatable for Miami when it comes to dead cap money. But if the 30-year-old deep threat is serious about wanting to play elsewhere, he may be willing to amend his contract to join Jackson and Henry in Baltimore."

Now, this presumes that what we saw from Hill in 2024 was a product of Tua Tagovailoa being out for much of the season, and not that Hill is simply in decline as a player. Hill had 81 catches and 951 yards last year, down consdierably from the 119 catches and 1,799 yards he had the previous year.

Hill is still among the fastest players in the NFL, but he turns 31 in March. He makes sense in Baltimore, but the Ravens have struck out on receivers before.
