Ariana Madix is set to guest star in “Will Trent” Season 3, Variety has learned exclusively.
Madix will appear as herself in an episode of the ABC procedural. In the episode, Madix is in Atlanta for work while also helping to stage an intervention for a friend. She hires Det. Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) to help work security for the intervention.
This will not be the first time Madix has played herself in a scripted TV series. She previously did so in an episode of the critically acclaimed comedy “The Other Two.” She has also acted in shows like “Anger Management” and “Dads,” as well as films like “Working It Out” and “Dead End.” She fulfilled a lifelong dream by making her Broadway debut in early 2024, appearing as Roxie Hart in the hit musical “Chicago.”
Madix is best known for her work as cast member on the hit Bravo reality TV series “Vanderpump Rules,” having been with the show since its second season. In the wake of the cheating scandal within the show’s 10th season known as the #Scandoval last year, Madix’s popularity skyrocketed. She was recently named the permanent host of “Love Island USA” at Peacock and also took part in Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars,” finishing third. She was named one of Variety‘s most powerful women in reality TV in 2023.
She is repped by Gersh, Venture Entertainment Partners, Hansen Jacobson, and Guttman Associates.
“Will Trent” is based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling novel series featuring the title character. Ramón Rodríguez stars as Trent, a special agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. McLaughlin, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Sonja Sohn, and Gina Rodriguez also star. Season 3 will debut in 2025 on ABC and stream next day on Hulu.
The series was developed by Liz Heldens and Daniel Thomsen, who also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Slaughter also executive produces along with Rodriguez, Oly Obst, Howard Deutch, and Ellen Marie Blum. 20th Television is the studio.
