Why's Cowboys' Parsons Poking Fun at 49ers?

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons heard all of the statements last season when it appeared as though the Cowboys did not get the memo to participate in free agency.

Why's Cowboys' Parsons Poking Fun at 49ers?

The Cowboys were socking away their money to sign their own players to long-term extensions.

Other teams scoffed and fans criticized the team for not spending any money. What they did not realize at the time was the Cowboys were planning for long-term extensions for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott.

Now, the San Francisco 49ers are putting all of their eggs in the Brock Purdy basket. Purdy is looking at becoming the highest-paid player in the NFL. He is seeking a contract worth an average in excess of $60 million per season.

Still, Parsons took the opportunity to poke fun at the 49ers for jettisoning some of their older, more established veterans as opposed to paying their hefty contracts.

He is welcoming the 49ers and their fans back to the reality of today's NFL economics.

”No more rookie qb lol welcome to reality!” — Parsons on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Due to the fact the 49ers have to deal with Purdy and his sizable demands, the 49ers are releasing defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, fullback Kyle Juszczyk, defensive end Leonard Floyd and defensive tackle Maliek Collins on Wednesday afternoon.

They have also had several players, such as Dre Greenlaw leave via free agency as they were not offered extensions last season. They also traded Deebo Samuel and got his contract off the books.

The reason is simple. Purdy has to get paid. This is reminiscent of when Prescott had to get paid last season. And our Mike Fisher suggests that Micah and the rest of the world should be able to figure out what's going on here.

Last year, the Cowboys engaged in what we termed a "Blow It Up'' plan. Isn't that what the Niners are doing now?

Micah should know better, as ...

People who live in glass houses, should not throw stones.
