Alabama basketball learned its opponent for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge on Thursday. The Crimson Tide will face Clemson in Coleman Coliseum as part of its 2025-26 non-conference schedule.
The last time the two teams faced off was in the 2024 Elite Eight in Los Angeles. Alabama won that game, moving on to its lone Final Four appearance in program history.
The Tide and Tigers had played earlier in the 2023-24 season as well, as part of the 2023 ACC/SEC challenge. Clemson visited Tuscaloosa early in the campaign, scoring a win in the game.
Clemson has never lost in Coleman Coliseum, through four appearances in the building. The Tigers are 8-5 all-time against Alabama.
Brad Brownell’s Clemson team was a No. 5 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. However, the Tigers were upset in the first round by Will Wade and No. 12-seed McNeese State.
With the schedule announcement on Thursday, Alabama now has eight games with dates for the 2025-26 season. The Crimson Tide will face North Dakota on Nov. 3 in Tuscaloosa, then travel to St. John’s on Nov. 8, before returning home Nov. 18 to play Purdue.
Alabama heads to Chicago on Nov. 19, to face Illinois. After that, Nate Oats and company will play three games in Las Vegas as part of the Players Era Festival in late November.
After the Clemson game, the Crimson Tide battles UTSA and former UA assistant Austin Claunch on Dec. 7 at Coleman Coliseum. UA will play in the C.M. Newton Classic in Birmingham on Dec. 13, against Arizona.
Alabama and Kennesaw State are scheduled to play in Huntsville on Dec. 21, the Tide’s last game that has both an opponent and date set. The Tide will also play Yale and South Florida, with dates to be determined.
The SEC will release its conference schedule closer to the start of the season.
