Will Jayden Daniels play on Sunday when the Washington Commanders (5-2) host the Chicago Bears (4-2) in Week 8 action?
Daniels missed practice on Thursday and Friday but participated on a limited basis on Friday. Head coach Dan Quinn didn’t reveal whether Daniels would play but said the team pushed him to see how he would respond.
“We really wanted to push it today,” Quinn said. “And so that’s why I think it’s important because you have to push it in all the, not just the quarterback specific things, but also within the game plan. So, we really pushed it today. And so that’s what really the next day and a half will be about. See how he responds because you have to, you have to do that.”
After practice, reporters were able to catch up with Daniels.
“I want to play, but it’s not my decision,” Daniels said Friday.
“I feel good,” he said. “Been in treatment and all that, trying to get back right, give myself a chance to go out there and be confident playing. Hopefully, the trainers, [GM] Adam [Peters] and DQ make the decision to let me play.”

Daniels understands the Commanders are looking out for his best interests, even if it means he will not be playing this week. He also said he has around 48 hours to see how he responded to Friday’s practice.
It sounds like Daniels will truly be a game-time decision for the Commanders, or, at least, that’s what they want the Bears to think.
