The Las Vegas Raiders traded for starting quarterback Geno Smith this off-season. The decision came shortly after Las Vegas hired Pete Carrol as their head coach. The trade reunited the HC-QB duo that will give the organization confidence going into the 2025 season.
However, it was Smith’s off-field actions that got the attention of fans this week.

Geno Smith was restrained after he tried to fight a youth coach and flaunted the NFL paycheck he receives:
Smith is coaching the South Florida Express in 7-on-7 competition this offseason and got into an altercation with another coach while watching his team play Raw Miami this weekend.
The game was broadcast live on NFL Network, as there were multiple highly-rated players on show, with Express winning 38-21.
Cameras caught the NFL star chirping at someone not shown, approaching whoever it was, and boasting about his earnings while getting held back.
“That’s why they pay me the big bucks, that’s why I get paid the big bucks,” he was hear shouting. “That’s why they bring the big bucks to me, that’s why they pay me the big bucks. That’s why they pay me the big bucks!”

Smith was not lying about getting paid “the big bucks.”
The Pro Bowl signal-caller inked a two-year deal worth $75 million with the Raiders this year and will hope to lead them to the playoffs under Pete Carrol, much like he was able to help the Seattle Seahawks during his time there.
He is part of the new Tom Brady era in Vegas, with the team opting to bring experience over youth, trading for him instead of selecting a potential starter in the NFL Draft.
