Watch: Nick Sirianni left in utter shock after Steph Curry completely ignored him during Sixers game

At first glance, winning the Super Bowl and being ignored by Steph Curry may not seem remotely connected, but one man bridges that gap: Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni . Any form of PR is beneficial for the image, but he needs to be a bit more cautious because a contract extension is just around the corner.

For instance, Sirianni was at the Wells Fargo Stadium in Philadelphia on March 2 to watch the Philadelphia 76ers take on Curry’s Golden State Warriors. Several fans turned on their phone cameras when Curry went around shaking hands with his fans.

One of the fans captured a slightly amusing moment through their lens. Curry hugged a guy, and just when everyone thought he would do the same with the next person in a white hoodie and cap, the 37-year-old left without even noticing the man.

Sirianni is famous, just not enough for Steph Curry to notice him in the crowd of people. It happens. It seemed like an honest mistake.

Is Nick Sirianni a good coach?

Sirianni has had a few moments to forget during his coaching career in the NFL. From shouting curse words after a win to getting torched by fans on social media for seemingly hiding behind his baby daughter at a press conference after losing a series of games.

Yet, it would be wrong to label the 43-year-old as a bad coach, but he did get cut by Andy Reid after he took over at the Kansas City Chiefs. Coincidentally, the Eagles appointed Sirianni as Reid’s successor.

Sirianni took charge of the Eagles coaching job in 2021 after bouncing around from the Chargers to the Colts for a few years. He signed a five-year deal that will run out after this year. During that time, Sirianni led the Eagles to the playoffs every year, won multiple NFC Championships, appeared in the Super Bowl twice, and won the 2024-25 edition.

Recently NBC Sports NFL writer Patrick Daugherty released his annual head coach power rankings. Daugherty placed Nick Sirianni at fifth behind Reid, Sean McVay, John Harbaugh, and Kyle Shanahan.

It is Sirianni’s ballgame after kickoff, and all he’s done is go 4-for-4 on playoff appearances and reach the Super Bowl every other season. He’s deftly navigated coordinator whiplash and major philosophical shifts.

Daughterty’s statement throws light on Sirianni’s management skills. Despite the constant changes in the coordinators, Sirianni kept the locker room under control. The 48-20 (.706) win record is proof that he can rub shoulders with some of the greats. Only John Madden (.759) and Vince Lombardi (.738) have had better win-to-loss ratios during their careers.

The wins alone make Sirianni a very good coach and one for the future generation. He’s part of the new breed of coaches who churn out innovative plays like the tush push. He’s been to two Super Bowls, and that should be enough for the Eagles to extend his stay beyond 2025.

Sirianni currently makes $7 million per season and is one of the lowest-paid NFL head coaches; he’s bound to see a significant bump in the upcoming months. Eagles CEO Jeffrey Lurie rarely talks about contract extensions like Jerry Jones, but he must have written down somewhere as a reminder that Sirianni needs to be paid sooner rather than later.
