After New York was the home of the popular NFL offseason event, the league has been on a mission to take it on tour on a yearly basis. This year's event held in Green Bay drew over 600,000 fans over the course of three days. Since it was taken away from Radio City Hall in 2015, the Draft has also been held in Chicago, Philadelphia, Arlington, Nashville, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and Detroit.

Obviously, setting the NFL Draft in the National Mall—often nicknamed America's Backyard—would give it yet another layer of meaning, given the significance of the place for national celebrations such as presidential inaugurations.

Next year, the NFL Draft is headed to Pittsburgh, where Acrisure Stadium is expected to be a part of the setting, as well as other important points of interest nearby. After it, expect one of the biggest sports events on the calendar to head to Washington.

Based on the direction the Commanders are headed on, don't expect them to be picking very high when they go on the clock in their own town.
