Warriors vs. Kings injury report: Jonathan Kuminga remains out

It’s a short injury report as the second half of the season gets underway.

Jonathan Kuminga injury status and update ahead of Kings' game against the Warriors

The second half of the 2024-25 NBA season gets underway for the Golden State Warriors tonight, even if that “half” is only 27 games. And they kick things off by visiting the Sacramento Kings, who offer up a critical opportunity: with a win, the Warriors and Kings will switch places in the Western Conference standings, with the Dubs moving into the ninth spot.

As one would expect after a layoff of more than a week, the Warriors are Kings are quite healthy coming out of the All-Star break, so it should be a fair fight.

Here’s the full injury report.

Warriors

Out — Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)

Kuminga will miss his 22nd consecutive game, and there’s no way to sugarcoat it: the Warriors miss him dearly. Thankfully his return does seem to be getting very close. Kuminga returned to practice this week, which means a return is likely near. He’ll still need to ramp up to full-court, five-on-five drills, and get himself into game shape after two months on the sidelines, but it’s not unrealistic that Kuminga could return sometime next week.
