VPR's Brittany Cartwright's Most Memorable Vanderpump Rules Moment Has Merch: "Rawt in Hail"

Brittany Cartwright's "Rot in Hell" Moment Is Now Merch | The Daily Dish

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have been through a lot since Season 6, but this quote remains iconic.

Over the years, fans of Vanderpump Rules and The Valley have watched as Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor navigate the ups and downs of their relationship. And while there have been plenty of memorable moments, there's likely one that runs on repeat in your mind: "Rot in hell!" Or, as true Bravoholics will note, "Rawt in hail" when said in Brittany's Kentucky accent. While the phrase calls back to a few very specific scenes, it's also surprisingly versatile, which is why we had to create merch inspired by the iconic three words.

Before the then-married, now-separated couple joined the cast of The Valley with their son Cruz, they were two SUR Restaurant & Lounge employees who were dating on Vanderpump Rules. Season 6 marked a difficult time for the pair; In the first episode, word got around at Scheana Shay's masquerade birthday party that Jax may have been unfaithful.

"If that's true," she said, "[He] can rot in f-cking hell."

Jax denied the accusation in the season premiere. In Season 6, Episode 2, however, he admitted it in a blunt conversation at their shared apartment.

"Yes, it's true." Jax confessed. "Yes."

After a pause, Brittany replied, "Rot in hell."

That wasn't the end of it. In Season 6, Episode 5, a recording surfaced in which Jax was speaking about Brittany. Shocked and hurt, Brittany decided that the group — which had gathered for a housewarming in the apartment she and Jax shared — needed to hear it as well. (In the audio, which the cast members listened to but was not heard by viewers at the time, he can reportedly be heard sharing unkind words about Brittany.)

As she grabbed the aux cord to play the recording over the speakers, Brittany said it again. "You deserve to rot in hell," she stated, pointing a finger at Jax, "I've heard the recording, and you deserve to rot in hell."

There's just something mesmerizing about that short, simple, and absolutely brutal catchphrase. Add her fabulous southern twang to the mix, and it's no wonder a phonetic spelling of the phrase keeps going viral.

Since wrapping The Valley Season 1, the couple — who had smoothed things over in the years since this incident — have broken up.
