The Green Bay Packers will face the Minnesota Vikings twice this season. Toward the end of last season, the Packers easily defeated the Vikings in a Week 17 matchup that put Green Bay on a path to make the playoffs in the NFC.

Minnesota missed the playoffs a season ago. With a much improved NFC North Division, the Vikings could be on the outside looking in once again this season. The Chicago Bears are also improved and the Detroit Lions are the favorites to win the NFC North Division.

Per sources that told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings are leaving T.J. Hockenson on the Physically Unable to Perform List, which means that he is going to miss the first four games of the 2024 season for the Minnesota Vikings. This is a huge loss for Minnesota’s offense. He is still recovering from a Torn ACL he suffered last season.

A season ago, he played in 15 games for the Vikings. Hockenson caught 95 passes for 960 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 10.1 yards per reception. He also was targeted 127 times. T.J. Hockenson will play a huge role in the Vikings offense when he returns from injury. In the meantime, Josh Oliver or Johnny Mundt will be the starting tight end in the meantime.

The Minnesota Vikings will head to Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin for the Week 4 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. It will be played on Sunday, September 29 with kickoff scheduled for NOON CT. T.J. Hockenson will not be available for that game against the Packers.

Green Bay’s defense will not have to worry much about the tight end element of the offense without him. However, they still have to account for Justin Jefferson and former Packers running back Aaron Jones. Hockenson can return as early as Sunday, October 6 against the New York Jets in London.
