If the Minnesota Vikings want to win the NFC North, the easiest way to do so is to win their last three games. That starts on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Seattle Seahawks.
The final injury report is out and it's down from 11 players to four.
- CB Fabian Moreau (hip): Out
- DL Jalen Redmond (concussion): Out
- FB C.J. Ham (ankle): Questionable
- S Harrison Smith (foot): Questionable
The one player that was missing from the injury report that stands out is Stephon Gilmore, who has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring injury. His return on Sunday will be huge, especially with Moreau missing the game.
Losing both Redmond and Moreau will certainly hurt the depth defensively. Redmond had earned himself a starting job this year and started the last two games. He suffered a concussion on his final snap against the Chicago Bears and will now miss Sunday's game. Moreau experienced hip soreness, according to O'Connell during his Monday press conference.
Ham would be a decent loss for the Vikings, especially against a dominant defensive front that the Seahawks have. The offensive line has struggled the last few weeks with communication and blocking, plus Ham is their best blocker in the backfield.
Smith was a little bit of a surprise when he appeared on the injury report on Thursday, but head coach Kevin O'Connell said it was a part of the plan.
"It came out of the game," said O'Connell about Smith's injury. "And then,, we normally are smart with the work week for him, and just kind of with how our workload on a shorter week kind of came up. It was best to kind of go limited. DNP, limited. So it was all part of the plan from the early part of the week."
That sounds like there isn't much concern with Smith and that's a good thing. They will need him on Sunday afternoon.
