Vikings resist draft chaos in final 2025 mock and it somehow just feels right

The Minnesota Vikings head into the 2025 NFL Draft with four selections to add talent to their roster for the upcoming season. That's no guarantee that the purple and gold will only select four players, but that is how things currently stand.

Vikings fans will wait a while on Thursday for the team to be on the clock. Minnesota currently owns the rights to the No. 24 overall pick, and there is speculation that they could trade out of the first round completely, complicating any predictions.

2025 NFL Draft: Minnesota Vikings final mock draft

Here is how the 2025 NFL Draft could shake out for the Minnesota Vikings.

Round 1: 24th overall - Malaki Starks, Safety - Georgia

The Vikings need to prepare for the future at the safety position. Camryn Bynum left in free agency this offseason, and Harrison Smith is likely to hang up his cleats after 2025. This is where a player like Malaki Starks would fit in nicely.

A 21-year-old defensive back with position versatility and an affinity for tracking receivers, Starks provides Minnesota with a coverage safety that would allow other defenders to be more aggressive in Brian Flores' defense.

Round 3: 97th overall - Charles Grant, Guard - William & Mary

This offseason proved that Minnesota is serious about improving its offensive line, and that will likely be reflected by choosing at least one blocker over the course of the 2025 NFL Draft to provide depth and competition.

Charles Grant has a great combination of athleticism and production at the college level. Although he played left tackle at William & Mary, the six-foot-five, 311-pound lineman projects to be a guard at the professional level.

Round 5: 139th overall - Jaylin Lane, Wide Receiver - Virginia Tech

The Minnesota Vikings aren't desperate to find a wide receiver to add to the depth chart, but the fifth round is a solid place to take a swing on a high-potential player who is highly athletic but didn't produce a lot in college.

Jaylin Lane is five-foot-ten and 191 pounds but has a lot of speed and athleticism to offer a team. If used in the slot, he could help to stretch or spread out a defense that already has to worry about Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and the rest of the offense.

Round 6: 187th overall - Kyle Monangai, Running Back - Rutgers

It's time to be honest about Ty Chandler. Minnesota's third running back had opportunities to prove that he can be a contributor when needed, but has failed to step up and carve out a role in the offense. That forced the Vikings to trade for Jordan Mason this offseason.

Now, the 2025 NFL Draft allows the team to draft a running back in a strong class of rushers. Kyle Monangai is a smaller running back who packs a punch, plays special teams, and has great acceleration, but lacks the top speed to pull away from defenders. A team captain who rarely fumbles, there is quite a bit to like about the Rutgers rusher.
