After reportedly trying to trade him last week, the Vikings announced on Monday afternoon that they have released veteran center Garrett Bradbury.
A source told the Pioneer Press that the Vikings will release Bradbury with a post June 1 designation, which, in turn, will save them $5.25 million in cap space.
The writing was on the wall for Bradbury last week when the Vikings seemingly signed his replacement amid a spending spree in free agency designed to fortify the trenches.
The overhauling of the offensive line started when the Vikings signed center Ryan Kelly and right guard Will Fries, then continued when they traded right guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans.
Now the Vikings are officially moving on from Bradbury, a longtime fixture in the middle of the offensive line, who has started 88 games since being selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
He played every single offensive snap for the Vikings last season, and while he showed some signs of improvement, his continued struggles to anchor in pass protection ultimately led to his release.
