As we showed you earlier this week the Minnesota Vikings wrapped up their three day mandatory minicamp on Thursday but not before continuing to lock up young pieces to their foundation.
The Vikings signed tight end Josh Oliver to a three year contract extension worth more than $23 million dollars on Tuesday.
He’s been a key blocker yet emerged as more of receiving target last year when TJ Hockenson missed time with injury.
Since they don’t yet have to commit a lot of money to a quarterback with J.J. McCarthy still on his rookie deal, Minnesota has more to spend be it in free agency or to lock up current core or role players.
And it’s certainly easy for Oliver to want to stay in purple despite the fact their could be other opportunities available.
“Just the culture KO (Head Coach Kevin O’Connell) and (General Manager) Kwesi (Adofo-Mensah) have built here, the players in the locker room, man you just love coming to work every day. Just a top class organization. Super happy about it.“ Oliver says.
