Vikings fans eating it up after rival QB torches Packers fanbase

The Minnesota Vikings surprised everyone last season by winning 14 games and earning a spot in the postseason. The NFC North as a whole played very well, as three of the four teams were in the playoffs.

The history behind the teams in the division is strong, and it has led to a nice rivalry between them. Sometimes that rivalry gets heated, and one team can greatly insult one of the other three franchises with only a few words.

It's fun where there's drama and the Minnesota Vikings aren't directly involved. The NFC North is not for the weak.

Last season was the rookie campaign for Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He led his team to five wins, with the only division win coming in Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Minnesota Vikings swept the Bears last season.

In the past, fans will remember former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers proclaiming that he owns the Bears. The hope in Green Bay is that Jordan Love will continue that dominance over the division rival, and he has been excellent. In four games against Chicago, Love has a passer rating of 121 with six touchdowns compared to one interception.

Fanatics Fest was held recently as Caleb Williams was asked about negative experiences with fans and the Bears' starting quarterback didn't hold back when talking about what team's fans he thinks suck.

“Probably Green Bay,” Williams said. “I mean, they suck. After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were. [Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it’s a real leap. It’s not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they’re pushing you, pushing your face.”

Although fans of the Green Bay Packers aren't likely to like the words of Caleb Williams, fans of the Minnesota Vikings are likely enjoying the drama unfolding in the NFC North. If nothing, these comments will make future games between the purple and gold's division opponents a lot more interesting as the Chicago Bears attempt to prove that they are no longer the little brother franchise to their biggest division rivals. That quest will continue during the 2025 NFL season.
