VIDEO: Michael Irvin Uses Wild Patrick Mahomes Comparison To Describe How Much The Bears Regret Drafting Caleb Williams Over Jayden Daniels

In a recent episode of Speak, Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin dropped a bombshell about the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams.

Williams is struggling to find his rhythm in the NFL, and critics have been ruthless.

Joy Taylor asked whether the Chicago Bears regretted taking Caleb Williams over Jayden Daniels, and Irvin claimed that they absolutely did.

Keyshawn Johnson even likened the move to the infamous 2017 debacle when the Bears drafted Mitch Trubisky second overall while passing on Patrick Mahomes.

Keyshawn Johnson did not agree with that assessment. He stated that we are only four games into the season, and Caleb Williams is playing with a terrible team.

Johnson pointed to several glaring issues, such as the coaching staff and the way they have mishandled Williams’ development. He also highlighted the team’s offensive line struggles and inability to establish a reliable running game.

According to Johnson, expecting Caleb Williams to thrive in such unfavorable circumstances is unrealistic.

Williams, the No. 1 overall pick and Heisman Trophy winner, was widely considered the best quarterback in the 2024 draft class.

However, Irvin believes the team should’ve taken LSU standout Jayden Daniels instead, as he pointed to his early success.

Caleb Williams Has More Interceptions Than Touchdowns

During the preseason, Williams looked like the next superstar quarterback to shake up the league, quite like what CJ Stroud did last year.

However, it has been quite the struggle for him as he has more interceptions than touchdowns.

Williams has completed 61% of his passes for 787 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also has 16 rushes for 79 yards.

The team is miraculously 2-2 on the year.
