‘Vanderpump Rules’ Veteran Confirms He’s in Talks to Appear in Season 12 Reboot

“Vanderpump Rules” alum Peter Madrigal confirmed that he is officially in talks to appear in the reboot of the Bravo reality show.  In January 2025, the longtime SUR manager told People magazine that he already knows who from his staff will be part of the season 12 cast, and that he knows them all “pretty well.”

When the outlet asked him if he wanted to appear in the reboot and if he had been approached by Bravo to return, he replied, “Yeah, yeah. Yes. Yeah, all of the above.”

Madrigal appeared regularly in early seasons of “Vanderpump Rules.” He did not appear at all in the most recent 11th season, which aired in 2024.

“I’m excited,” Madrigal said of the new cast, which will feature current wait staff and bartenders who currently work at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant and lounge. I think everybody out there should be excited as well to see a brand new cast and something fresh and new and different — but still at SUR.”

In November, Bravo announced that “Vanderpump Rules” would be recast with an entirely new group of SUR employees. The original series starred Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, Scheana Shay, Jax Taylor, Stasi Schroeder, Lala Kent, and more.

Peter Madrigal Previously Explained Why He Should Return to VPR

Madrigal previously explained to the “Bravo and Blaze” podcast that he didn’t appear in season 11 due to budget reasons. “I’ve been getting paid on this show since the inception of the show,” he stated. “And then they asked me, ‘Do it for free.’ … They didn’t [actually] say for free. But they didn’t have it in the budget — [they didn’t have] any payment for me in the budget. That’s the reason why I was like, ‘Well, you know what? I’m not coming back.’”

He also claimed that he is “one of the biggest staples” at SUR.

In subsequent interviews, Madrigal explained that it makes sense for him to appear on the “Vanderpump Rules” reboot because he’s remained at SUR for more than a decade. “SUR gave me everything I have right now so it’s not hard to manage that place, especially with my job and title and all that stuff,” he said in a November 2024 interview on the “Vanderpump Robs” podcast. “So, I went I went hard on that part. But I also always play the long game.  … I’m still at SUR, I am putting all the work and hopefully, you get to see me on season 12 of ‘Vanderpump Rules.’”

Lisa Vanderpump Hinted An OG Could Make Cameos on the VPR Reboot

Vanderpump has also confirmed that the new cast is set. In a December 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, she was asked if she “found the new SURvers” and knows who will be part of the cast. “Yes, I have an existing group,” she replied, before hinting that there’s always room for more employees to join the cast.

While she did not name Madrigal, Vanderpump previously told Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” that fans might see Schwartz on the reboot due to his position at her West Hollywood bar TomTom. “I think we’ll definitely be filming at TomTom as well [as SUR] for sure. I think Schwartz is going to be more involved in that,” she told the outlet.
