Vancouver Canucks Rookie Max Sasson Breaks Major Career Milestone Against the Boston Bruins

The Vancouver Canucks had quite a poor performance on Saturday night as they hosted the Boston Bruins, who brought a couple familiar faces to town in Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm.

Boston took a 2-0 lead after the first period, 4-0 lead after the second period and less than 30 seconds after the puck dropped for the final frame, the Bruins were up 5-0.

It's a game that the Vancouver Canucks will want to put in the rearview mirror very quickly so they can move forward and focus on Monday night's game against Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche.

While overall it was a bad night for the Vancouver Canucks, for one rookie forward, he had a moment that he won't forget for the rest of his life.

Max Sasson scores his first NHL goal against the Boston Bruins

With less than ten minutes to play in the third period, the Canucks put pressure on the Bruins in Boston's end, forcing a turnover, which led J.T. Miller to find a wide-open Max Sasson who fired home his first goal in the National Hockey League.

Because of the score, there was a bit of a subdued reaction to Max Sasson's first NHL goal, but J.T. Miller went an retrieved the puck for the rookie forward, congratulating him afterwards.

Sasson also received congratulations from his agent Dan Milstein through a post on social media last night.

'Congratulations to Max Sasson of the #Canucks on scoring his 1st career NHL goal!' Milstein said.

After the game, Max Sasson met with reporters where he said scoring his first goal in the National Hockey League is a moment he'll never forget and will cherish for the rest of his life.

'A goal in this league isn't easy to come by. I'll cherish it for the rest of my life. I'll remember this moment.' Sasson said.

Since coming up to the National Hockey League in November, Sasson has played pretty well in a bottom-six role for the Vancouver Canucks, registering five points (one goal, four assists) and is a plus-three in ten games.

The 24-year-old will look to continue his success on Monday night when the Vancouver Canucks welcome the Colorado Avalanche to town for a 7:30 pm PT puck drop on Sportsnet Pacific.
