Vancouver Canucks announce Clio as new official away jersey partner

Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) announced today that Vancouver-based legal technology leader Clio is the new official away jersey partner of the Vancouver Canucks in a multi-year agreement. This partnership marks the first time the Canucks have secured an away jersey sponsor, following the introduction of TD Bank Group as the home jersey sponsor in the 2022-23 NHL season.

Clio’s blue logo will be displayed prominently on the upper right corner of the team’s white jerseys. Fans will see the emblem for the first time when the Canucks take the ice at the Young Stars Classic in Penticton, B.C., on September 13. This partnership continues the Canucks’ commitment to building strategic and impactful sponsor relationships, following their efforts with home jersey sponsors in recent seasons.

President of Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Michael Doyle, emphasized the importance of aligning with a local, innovative company like Clio, which has been recognized as one of Canada’s top employers and made Forbes’ prestigious Cloud 100 list.

“This new partnership brings the Canucks together with a dynamic Vancouver-based company, long celebrated as one of Canada’s Top Employers,” said Doyle. He added that Clio’s strong commitment to community through its various support programs aligns perfectly with the Canucks’ values. “We are so proud to partner with an organization that is deeply committed to innovation and dedicated to giving back to the community.”

Founded in 2008, Clio has revolutionized legal technology by offering cutting-edge, cloud-based software solutions that are client-centred. As a leader in its field, Clio has consistently set new standards for efficiency and client service in the legal industry. This partnership is not just about visibility for Clio, but also underscores the company’s broader mission of community engagement.

Clio’s CEO and Founder, Jack Newton, expressed his excitement over the new collaboration, noting that it reflects the shared values between the two organizations. “Seeing the Clio logo on the Canucks’ away jerseys is a standout moment for us,” Newton said, highlighting the importance of teamwork and innovation both in legal tech and sports. “This partnership offers us a unique opportunity to connect with fans and showcase our support for a team that represents the heart of Vancouver—a city we are proud to call home.”

According to their website, while Clio’s industry-leading legal software has transformed the sector, the company is also committed to fostering inclusivity and mental wellness within the legal profession. Through its Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity (DIBE) initiatives and access-to-justice programs, Clio works to close the justice gap and improve representation in the legal field. By integrating community support into its mission, Clio goes beyond technology to address systemic issues that affect the legal experience for all.

This partnership provides Clio with a unique platform to further amplify these efforts while connecting with Canucks fans across the globe. The integration of Clio’s brand with the Canucks represents not only a business opportunity, but also a chance to continue shaping a meaningful impact on the community.
