Tyreek Hill guarantees he'll convince disgruntled Dolphins star to stay in Miami

The Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Hill appeared on Saturday at the annual Fanatics Fest in New York, N.Y. Hill spoke on a panel, and eventually the conversation shifted to Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who is the subject of widespread trade rumors right now.

In response, Hill essentially guaranteed that he would be able to convince Ramsey to stay.

“I’m gonna hang out with Ramsey next week, man,” said Hill. “I’m gonna get him back. Full-court press. I’m getting Ramsey back in a Dolphins jersey.”

The seven-time Pro Bowler Ramsey, 30, is actually in a Dolphins jersey right now. Miami signed him to a three-year extension last offseason, and Ramsey is thus under contract through 2028 as a result.

But Dolphins general manager Chris Grier told reporters in April that the team was looking to trade Ramsey, and Ramsey himself has cryptically been hinting at a possible departure via social media as well. Earlier this week, Ramsey’s apparent trade preference was revealed too.

But Hill, Ramsey’s teammate in Miami for the last two seasons, still thinks that the relationship can be salvaged if he gets involved. Though it helps that Ramsey is still on the roster nearly three weeks now after June 1 (the date by which the Dolphins’ dead-money charge for potentially trading away Ramsey got significantly more manageable), it might be a Hail Mary at this point for Hill to try to get Ramsey to stick around in South Beach.
