TRENDING: President Joe Biden Praises Kansas City Chiefs Elite Quarterback Patrick Mahomes During White House Visit; ‘Comeback King, not the Comeback Kid’ – 2024 Offseason

As customary, the Super Bowl champions visit the White House before the start of the next season. For the second time in as many seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs visited President Joe Biden at the Executive Mansion, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid in attendance.

Biden welcomed the Chiefs to the White House, complimenting the players and even donning a team helmet during their time with the media. However, Biden saved the highest praise for Mahomes, calling him one of the best signal-callers in the sport’s history regarding come-from-behind wins.

President Joe Biden, the 46th POTUS of the United States, shared his thoughts on the Kansas City Chiefs during their post-Super Bowl visit to the White House on Friday. However, nobody received a better compliment than the team’s star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

Biden called Mahomes the “Comeback king, not the comeback kid. Comeback king” during Friday’s festivities. Mahomes has 19 fourth-quarter comebacks in his already Hall of Fame-worthy career, but none bigger than leading his team to a come-from-behind victory in last year’s Super Bowl. The Chiefs trailed four times but eventually beat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. Mahomes’ 14 regular season fourth-quarter comebacks are nice, but they still put him well behind Tom Brady, who retired with 46. Biden was also complimentary about Kansas City earning their second consecutive Super Bowl victory.

“Welcome back…winning back-to-back, I kind of like that,” said Biden. He was also in the spirit of wearing a Kansas City Chiefs helmet during the celebration. Biden also heard onlookers chuckle after a short back-and-forth with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“I’d have Travis come up here, but God only knows what he would say…Travis, come up here,” said Biden. Kelce briefly appeared in front of the microphone, saying, “My fellow Americans…. It’s nice to see you all again.”

Kansas City Chiefs: Eyeing Third Straight Title

All eyes will be on the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024 as they attempt to pull off the three-peat. The 1965-1967 Green Bay Packers are the only team to win three straight titles, winning the NFL Championship during their first season before taking the league’s first two Super Bowls. Leading the way again next season will be the dynamic duo of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, among others.

With a stellar season next year, Mahomes could join Tom Brady as the only other quarterback with at least three MVPs and three Super Bowls. However, he is coming off a statistically low season, tossing a career-high 14 interceptions with 27 touchdowns. To bolster his weapons, Kansas City added the speedy wide receiver tandem this offseason of Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy.
