Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift Announcement Takes a Surprise Turn

Right now, the Internet is going crazy over the idea that Taylor Swift might announce her new album on “New Heights,” the podcast hosted by Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and his brother, Jason. On Monday, August 11, Kelce promised that he was going to have a “VERY special guest” on the show on Wednesday, August 13, at 7 p.m. Eastern time.

In an Instagram post about the episode, both Travis and Jason are shown seated in front of an orange background by a black-out image of the special guest. It really seems like they’re teasing a Swift appearance, after months of Swiftie asking for it. The caption read, “92%ers, we’re coming back early for a special episode with a VERY special guest.”

But, what if the podcast appearance is about more than just music? What if it has something to do with Kelce and Swift taking the next step together in their relationship?

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Have the Internet on Fire

Followers took to Instagram to respond to Travis and Jason’s podcast announcement. “Y’all really know how to get the swifties riled up on a Monday morning,” one said. The NFL even responded with a thinking face and eyes emoji.

But, although this really does look like an album announcement, some are holding out hope for something more. How about an engagement?

Swiftes would absolutely not be able to contain themselves if Travis and Taylor were to announce an engagement on the “New Heights” podcast. Las Vegas has been placing bets on if the two will tie the knot soon.

Now, it appears that this album announcement speculation is actually hurting the odds of the two getting engaged. But, some out there still think it will happen soon.

Speculation About an Engagement on the ‘New Heights’ Podcast

“While fans are speculating what Swift could be announcing on the podcast this week, it doesn’t seem like it’s an engagement,” Odds Checker notes in a piece published on Monday, August 11. “This market has fallen from 55% to 27% on Kalshi since July 30th. It had been gaining serious steam throughout the summer, but bettors may not be expecting that type of announcement on something as informal as a podcast.”

So, right now, 27% of those polled believe that a Travis and Taylor engagement is on the way. “Travis Kelce did just put out his first social media post of Swift in July, though it’s important to note that the Chiefs tight end doesn’t post often on his personal Instagram outside of sponsored podcast content and pre-made Chiefs hype videos,” Odds Checker adds.

Adding to the idea of the announcement being a new album, not, an engagement, is that Us Weekly reported back in December that Swift was thinking of getting to “work on a new album” and talking “about hitting the road again—albeit on a smaller scale than the Eras Tour—in 2026.”

The insider added, “She had such a great experience on Eras. She really wants to do it again. She loves being with all her fans—it inspires her. Things can change. A lot of it hinges on what happens over the next year with Travis. She’s told her team to give her one year to see how things go in her personal life.”

So, while it’s possible that Wednesday’s announcement is an engagement, don’t hold your breath. Time will tell if and when these two lovebirds tie the knot.
