The Miami Dolphins are looking for a trade partner for Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
On parer?
The Buffalo Bills would be a good suitor for Ramsey, who could find a home playing opposite Christian Benford.
Ramsey would also fit in nicely with Tre'Davious White and Dane Jackson, who are also part of the defensive backfield.
Does it seems to be a rather far-fetched idea that the Dolphins would trade Ramsey to their biggest rival?
Know that the AFC East issue has little to do with it.
The Dolphins signed Ramsey to a three-year extension last season for $72 million.
That’s now a problem.
It should be noted Ramsey did not ask for the trade. However, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said last week at his pre-draft press conference he will be seeking to trade Ramsey sooner than later.
Ramsey has said lately he would be desirous of being traded to a Super Bowl contender. The Bills would check the box in that category. They came within one first-down of potentially going to the Super Bowl last season. They lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
But that $72 mil seems almost untenable.
It would be interesting, however, if the trade somehow came together. … because of the personalities involved.
Back in 2018, Ramsey called Bills' quarterback Josh Allen "trash.”
While Allen has had all of the last laughs at Ramsey's expense since … this would be an awkward Bills setup, no matter the fair compensation for the All-Pro.
It is possible if the trade were to come off, Ramsey could be the final piece of the puzzle to get the Bills past the Chiefs and finally make a Super Bowl appearance, which they have not accomplished in over three decades.
