The Golden State Warriors pulled off one of the biggest trades of the 2024-25 NBA season at the Feb. 6 deadline, acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in exchange for Andrew Wiggins as part of a multi-team deal.
With the trade, the Warriors hope to get one final shot at a fifth championship during the recent dynasty, creating a new star trio of Butler, Steph Curry and Draymond Green.
Butler had become a bit of a problem for the Heat this season. He was suspended three times over the course of a month due to "a continued pattern of disregard of team rules, engaging in conduct detrimental to the team and intentionally withholding services."
With that being said, many have Butler's return to Miami on March 25 marked on their calendars, Butler included. This would mark the first time the former Marquette star has faced his former team.
Initially, the game was going to air on NBA League Pass, but on Thursday, it was revealed that the Warriors vs. Heat game will now be aired nationally on TNT, according to Hear writer Ira Winderman.
"TNT has added Jimmy Butler's return game with Golden State Warriors in Miami on March 25 to their national schedule," Winderman wrote on X. "It assuredly should be a lovefest to behold."
TNT initially planned to cover the game against the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks on March 25. But, given the circumstances, it likely made the right call.
The Warriors have looked better since Butler's arrival, going 3-1 over the course of four games. Butler is averaging 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists per game. Golden State will look to continue its strong play on Friday against the Sacramento Kings.
