The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, June 2, reveals that Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) gift for Queen Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) won’t impress Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Aristotle Dumas will also fire Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers), so let’s talk about what’s ahead in Genoa City.
At Society, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will bump into Damian and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
After Damian steps away to take Dumas’ phone call, he’ll return with the news that he didn’t have a chance to quit.
That’s because Dumas fired Damian through his assistant.
There’ll be speculation about why Dumas made this decision before talk turns to Lily’s France party invitation.
Despite Nate’s concerns, Lily will think Dumas’ bash is a great opportunity to go get all her questions answered.
In the jazz lounge, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) will show up late and claim he got stuck catching up with work at the office.
As Cole joins Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and mingles, he’ll struggle to hide his cough and will still look under the weather despite his attempt to downplay things.
After Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) notices that Cole looks rough, he’ll share a dance with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and joke about taking her to race go-carts for her next birthday.
Although Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will try to approach Victor and talk to him, Victor will give him the cold shoulder.
Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will beg Michael not to let Victor pull him back in.
Michael won’t think it’s going to be an issue since Victor won’t forgive him anytime soon.
Next on Monday’s Y&R episode, Nikki will speak with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) about Kyle and Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) plan to win Victor over.
Jack will just hope that it doesn’t blow up in Claire and Kyle’s faces!
There’ll also be some talk about Dumas’ party since Victor, Nikki, Diane and Jack all got invitations.
When Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) sees Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), she’ll bring up the whole Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) ordeal again and upset Ashley.
Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will notice and worry about her mom, especially after Ashley hints about things unraveling for her.
However, Ashley will promise she’s handling it and will think they should enjoy this special occasion.
Over with Devon Winters (Bryton James), he’ll quiz Nick about serving as Sharon’s party escort, but Nick will insist he’s friends with Sharon – just like he’s friends with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
When it’s time for Kyle’s grand gesture, he’ll help Claire wheel out the cake and will make a sweet speech about all Nikki’s great qualities.
After Kyle mentions Victor being a chess master, he’ll point out that the queen is the most important piece on the board.
Kyle will play Nikki up as the queen too and will hand over a charm bracelet, which will feature the names of her grandkids and great-grandkids with room to grow.
Nikki will hug Kyle over the thoughtful present, but Victor won’t look impressed over any of this as he stands nearby!
