Trusted NHL insider Frank Seravalli dropped some pretty big insight on what it would take for the Vancouver Canucks to acquire their top offseason target and Minnesota Wild Star Marco Rossi, but is he asking too much?
Sources: Marco Rossi's beefy contract ask, in the range of Matt Boldy's 7 x $7 million, has become a roadblock for the #mnwild in trade talks
Ever since the Minnesota Wild's season came to an end, future star forward Marco Rossi made some questionable comments about his role on the team that did not go over well with general manager Bill Guerin.
Since that moment, speculation about his future with the wild have been running wild, and the Vancouver Canucks have been front runners since the beginning.
NHL insider reveals asking price from Marco Rossi
According to Frank Seravalli, the 23-year-old and his agent are demanding a contract in the ball-park of Matthew Boldy who signed a 7-year, $49 million.
As many have already reported at this time, Rossi's camp is looking for a contract similar to that of Matthew Boldy in the seven-year, $49 million range.
But, along with his comments and position on the team, GM Bill Guerin has absolutely no interest in paying that price, which once again opens the door for the Canucks to swoop in offer sheet the pending RFA.
Now that the price has been officially been set, do you think Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin will put in an offer sheet for Rossi?
