The Green Bay Packers will be linked to drafting many different players in the 2025 NFL Draft with the NFL season officially being over. The scouting combine in Indianapolis, Indiana will be in about two weeks and there will be many different positions that the Packers will be scouting.

A few of those positions will be wide receiver, cornerback, and defensive line. The Green Bay Packers finished with an 11-6 record last season before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round. Green Bay needs to draft players who will contribute right away.

To no shock, many different websites will have the Green Bay Packers drafting a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. ESPN’s Field Yates was the latest person to have Green Bay taking a defensive back. He has them selecting cornerback Maxwell Hairston from the Kentucky Wildcats. Yates said:

“The Packers have to look at their cornerback room this offseason. Improvements would allow them to play more man coverage under coordinator Jeff Hafley after tying with Tampa Bay for the lowest percentage of man coverage snaps in 2024 (29.2%). Hairston sat out some time because of a shoulder injury this past season, but he led the SEC with five interceptions in 2023 — two of which were returned for touchdowns. He’s a playmaking ball magnet who is going to fly in the 40-yard dash at the combine. Hairston pairs well opposite Jaire Alexander. That duo could help shore up the Green Bay pass defense that gave up a 67.4% completion rate this season, 25th in the league.”

Hairston is 6’1″ and weighs 186 lbs. Last season with the Kentucky Wildcats, he recorded 19 tackles, one sack, one interception, one touchdown, and four interceptions. Maxwell Hairston as a first-round selection would signal for the Green Bay Packers that they are overhauling the cornerback room.

Jaire Alexander Should Be Not In Packers Plans In 2025

The Green Bay Packers should move off of Jaire Alexander before the 2025 season. He has been injured for a major part of the last two seasons. This is one of the reasons many mock drafts has Green Bay taking cornerbacks in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

For some who think Alexander will be back next year, it probably will not happen. Maxwell Hairston of the Kentucky Wildcats may not be the only cornerback they would take in the 2025 NFL Draft,
