Hear the Southern Charm cast unpack their feelings about Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo's breakup.
After Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover split towards the end of 2024, it was no surprise that Southern Charm’s Shep Rose and Austen Kroll rallied around their friend Craig.
“I just feel bad for the guy, ‘cause it doesn’t sound like he was driving this bus,” Shep remarked during the Season 10 finale.
But others checked in on Paige in the aftermath of the split, including one surprising cast member of Southern Charm.
“If I’m going to be very frank and very honest, I was the last person she probably expected a text message from or a check in,” Venita Aspen revealed to Leva Bonaparte on the Southern Charm After Show.
“I think I’d be the last. You’d be second last,” Leva responded.
Why did Venita Aspen check in on Paige DeSorbo after her split from Craig Conover?
Venita shared that her close friendship with Summer House’s Ciara Miller was part of the reason why she reached out to Paige after she broke up with Craig. “I really don’t know [Paige] but I’m best friends with her best friend,” Venita explained on the After Show. “It’s a quick flight [to New York City]. I know I can stay with Ciara. I know I can be around the corner, whatever — like, let me know if you need something.”
Venita said being a “girl’s girl” was also part of why she contacted Paige. “Yes, I’m on the show with Craig, but I’m a girl’s girl at the end of the day,” she said on Housewives Nightcap in January. “So, I texted her to make sure she was OK. And, you know, she’s [taking things] one day at a time.”
Venita also shared what Paige responded: “She was just like, ‘I appreciate you so much for doing that and saying something.'"
Rodrigo Reyes also reached out to Paige after her split from Craig
Venita wasn't the only one to send her thoughts to Paige after the breakup. Shep said on the season finale he heard about the split from Rodrigo Reyes and his fiancé Tyler Dugas, who are closer with Paige, so it should come as no surprise that Rodrigo reached out to her when he himself heard the news.
“Tyler and I, we do like Paige,” Rodrigo said on the Southern Charm After Show. “I understand her. She’s funny. I think she’s a very funny, lovely person. I know her on a personal level. And when I reached out to Paige, she responded like that. I’m not like as a fan or whatever—Tyler and I are both concerned. Before I did, Tyler was texting with Paige.”
