The Golden Bachelorette star Pascal Ibgui may be overconfident, but his big ego would make him a better Golden Bachelor than potential producer plant Mark Anderson or red flag Chock Chapple. Throughout The Golden Bachelorette process, viewers have been trying to wrap their minds around who Pascal is and how he became the man that Bachelor Nation met. While Pascal seemed like a charming, interesting man when he first met Joan Vassos on the show’s opening night, his personality opened up in a way the series couldn’t have anticipated. With such a big personality, there was bound to be drama.
The Golden Bachelorette season 1 introduced some major personalities into its cast from the very beginning. While some of the men were hesitant to get to know Joan, others dove in headfirst into the experience and were excited to immerse themselves into The Golden Bachelorette. While Pascal appeared skeptical in some moments, it was clear that he was passionate about everything he chose to do, and he committed himself to the process no matter what was happening. Someone who lives in the moment the way Pascal does tends to do well on reality TV shows, especially within the Bachelor franchise.
Pascal Had A Big Personality On The Golden Bachelorette
He Was Able To Share His True Self
Although Pascal’s journey on The Golden Bachelorette wasn’t all difficulties, his personality was one of the largest in the cast. Despite knowing that he’s typically someone who doesn’t get along with everyone, Pascal was determined to be himself during his time on The Golden Bachelorette. Hopeful that Joan, the rest of the guys, and Bachelor Nation would come to know his true self, Pascal was often emotional, did his best to be open, and shared more than he likely thought he would on screen. As his relationship with Joan continued to deepen, it became clear that Pascal was opening up.
Bachelor Nation Struggled With Pascal’s Blunt Honesty
Viewers Weren’t Sure How To Receive Pascal
Although Bachelor Nation was happy to see that Pascal was being true to himself, some struggled with his big personality. Despite knowing upfront that Pascal was one of the bigger personalities on the show, it was clear that he was ruffling feathers with some of the other guys on the show at times. Though his actions weren’t typically villainous, Pascal often struggled to be anything but blunt and honest. Without a lot of social grace, it was obvious that there were some issues in the relationships he shared with the cast, but his time with Joan was typically on point.
Bachelor Nation had a hard time seeing the different sides of Pascal, and many didn’t know how to receive him. Blunt, honest, and at times harsh, Pascal was true to his personality and feelings as he moved through the experience. As The Golden Bachelorette cast dwindled down, many felt that Pascal was someone who Joan likely should’ve eliminated a bit earlier in the series. Even though they were both still getting to know each other and learning if their connection was something that would work, Bachelor Nation was ready for Pascal to make way for other guys from Golden Bachelorette.
Pascal's Golden Bachelorette Journey Wasn't Easy
His Time On The Show Exposed His True Self
Pascal’s time on the show wasn’t entirely positive as he slowly became more of a Bachelor villain than a hero on The Golden Bachelorette. Though Pascal wasn’t doing anything particularly sinister, he made it clear that he competed in order to get to know Joan and learn more about her. He developed friendships with the other guys on the cast of The Golden Bachelorette, as well, but it was clear that he was there for Joan and hopeful to explore their relationship to the fullest during his time on the series. Unfortunately, he began to feel distant throughout the season.
Pascal made the tough decision to leaveThe Golden Bachelorette after realizing that his connection with Joan wasn’t as strong as the other guys’. At final three, Pascal knew that allowing Joan’s energy not to be split in several different ways was important, and made it clear that he knew his connection wasn’t as strong as Chock’s or Guy Gansert’s. He chose to move on, ruffling some feathers from Bachelor Nation even as he made the right choice for himself and, in the long run, Joan. While Pascal can be villainous, his ego would make him a great Golden Bachelor.
He Could Be Great As The Golden Bachelor
While Pascal may have been difficult for The Golden Bachelorette audience to deal with as a contestant, he’d make a phenomenal lead for The Golden Bachelor season 2. Despite knowing that some parts of his personality can come off as harsh, Pascal has been one of the most interesting cast members to come out of the Golden Side of the franchise yet. With his sometimes hardened French sensibilities, Pascal has still managed to become one of the most talked about contestants from the show, and his personality would make a great lead. Pascal is open, honest, and understands the process.
While he may not be one of the most beloved figures that Bachelor Nation has welcomed in recent years, Pascal has been able to find a niche audience that loves him for who he is, which makes things easier for a lead of the franchise. If Pascal were to become the next Golden Bachelor, he would be able to speak openly about the connections he was experiencing, and hopefully find love on his own Golden journey. Though Pascal has been polarizing for some, especially after his comments on Chock being a “stalker”, he’d be a dynamic lead for the show.
The Golden Bachelor Needs Dynamic Casting To Save The Show
Leads Need To Be Less Diplomatic
While there have been conflicting ideas from Bachelor Nation on who would make the best lead for the next season of the Golden series, Pascal would be one of the most dynamic leads the franchise has ever seen. Dynamic contestants, meaning those who aren’t just sweet, kind, and gentle in their original season, becoming leads brings more interesting seasons of the series, as they may be less diplomatic in their decision-making. While Pascal wouldn’t be outwardly mean to anyone as
The Golden Bachelor, he wouldn’t hold back in his time as the lead, which would create new styles of drama.
