Pascal Ibgui became one of the surprising frontrunners on The Golden Bachelorette, but after his stalker comments about Chock Chapple, it's become obvious he shouldn't get cast as the next Golden Bachelor. He won over fans with his charming French accent and personality, quickly developing a connection with Joan. It was surprising when he got so far in the competition, but Pascal never seemed poised to win The Golden Bachelorette season 1.
However, as the show progressed to an emotional phase in Tahiti, he realized he didn’t feel as deeply as Joan did. Pascal eventually decided to leave The Golden Bachelorette, explaining he was “picky” and hadn’t felt the romantic spark. When Pascal left the show, expressing fear of heartbreak, it devastated Joan. Ultimately, Joan faced tough decisions, reflecting deeply on her connections with Chock and Guy Gansert. She was down to the wire, Chock or Guy, and she chose Chock.
Pascal Is Too High Maintenance
He Exhibited Diva Behavior
Pascal's dramatic exit from The Golden Bachelorette in Tahiti indicates he's too much of a diva to star as the next Golden Bachelor. Although Joan looked forward to her overnight date with him, Pascal admitted to not feeling a romantic spark and abruptly ended things. During a spiritual ceremony on their date, Pascal grew uneasy and later confessed he didn’t want to be a “replacement” for Joan’s late husband.
While Pascal expressed regret about his sudden departure, his lack of vulnerability and tendency to make rash decisions are red flags. He had to be ready to open up his heart and mind to star in The Golden Bachelor, and he would do neither. Pascal's high maintenance would make it difficult for him to find a match.
Pascal Isn't Open To Older Women
He Wants To Lower The Age For The Golden Bachelor
In an interview with US Weekly, Pascal openly admitted he wouldn't be The Golden Bachelor unless they lowered the age of the women. Pascal explained he values maturity but prefers younger women. 69-year-old Pascal insisted the franchise would need to cast younger women. "The age [has] got to be lower. Yes, I’m old, but I don’t go out with a 72-year-old woman," he said, according to the news outlet.
"When you’re my age, I have my business, I have my home, I have my real estate, I have my friends, I have my kids, I have my connection to my health club, to my restaurant. I’m involved in a lot of charity."
To address the challenges of moving for romance, Pascal proposed making The Golden Bachelor city-specific. This way, contestants could maintain their lives and connections. Though he’s open to becoming the next Golden Bachelor, Pascal has some major requests, ultimatums The Bachelor franchise might not be willing to accommodate.
Pascal Is Already On The Producers' Bad Side
He Spoke Out About Their Manipulation
According to Pascal, The Golden Bachelorette's producers urged him to make his breakup with Joan more dramatic. He was going to let Joan down gently, expressing he wasn’t ready to continue their relationship. However, a producer allegedly encouraged Pascal to make his feelings clearer by using the phrase “not in love” which he didn't want to do. Pascal further sparked controversy by dressing up as Joan for Halloween. Due to his behavior, he's not on the producers' good side, and they're unlikely to cast him after his appearance on The Golden Bachelorette.
