The Golden Bachelorette Isn't Getting The Recognition It Should Be (Did Gerry & Jenn’s Seasons Ruin The Franchise?)

The Golden Bachelorette doesn’t appear to be getting the same recognition that other seasons of the series have, and it’s likely because of Jenn Tran and Gerry Turner’s seasons. With Joan Vassos leading the charge as the first Golden Bachelorette, Bachelor Nation has been ready to watch her journey for the last several months, but things appear to be moving more slowly than expected. The Golden Bachelorette season 1 was highly anticipated, but it hasn’t been doing as well as other shows in the franchise. After some dramatic seasons in the franchise, priorities seem to be changing for Bachelor Nation.

While Joan’s journey is just unfolding, the rest of The Bachelor franchise has been struggling as the other shows have let viewers down. Most recently, Jenn’s season of The Bachelorette struggled to retain viewers after it was clear that the show let down its lovely lead. After offering The Bachelorette season 21’s leading role to two other women, the series landed on Jenn and tried to make a big deal out of her heritage. Jenn eventually chose Devin Strader out of a motley group of guys who mostly weren’t there for her but had her heart broken on national TV.

Jenn’s disappointing season was a tough blow to Bachelor Nation, who were hopeful they’d get to see a great season of the series for the fan-favorite lead. After Gerry’s season, however, viewers hadn’t been expecting too much from The Bachelorette. The Golden Bachelor season 1 was a struggle for viewers to get behind after the fact, though they were heavily invested during the season. Gerry and Theresa Nist’s relationship was wonderful to watch unfold, but after Gerry’s reputation began to tank and their relationship crumbled despite a live TV wedding, Bachelor Nation’s trust seemed to be broken with the franchise.

Longtime viewers have chosen to take a break rather than tune into The Golden Bachelorette.

The Golden Bachelorette Has Had A Great Few Episodes

The Series Has Been A Fun Ride

Although The Golden Bachelorette season 1 is just getting started, the season has already been far and away one of the best that the franchise has ever produced. With Joan taking the lead, things have been fun from the beginning. Joan’s time on Gerry’s season of The Golden Bachelor didn’t stretch long, but she was memorable from the beginning. Although she seemed to have a genuine connection with Gerry, she had to step away from the series to take care of a family emergency and wound up bringing her journey to an end. Viewers were sad to see Joan go.

Now, with her own chance at being the lead, Joan has been able to change the franchise after some difficult seasons. While Joan’s effortless beauty and grace were apparent on The Golden Bachelor, the new series has shed light on Joan’s backstory and the way that she’s been able to stand up and be strong in times of desperation and darkness. With a group of guys who are treating her like the prize she is, The Golden Bachelorette season 1 has been a great start to the newest spin-off of the franchise.

Bachelor Nation Isn’t Tuning In For The New Series

They Haven’t Been Interested In The Show

Although The Golden Bachelorette has been a great watch, Bachelor Nation hasn’t been interested in keeping up with the series. After the damage caused by Jenn’s season and Gerry’s reputation, it’s been difficult for Bachelor Nation to stay invested in the story of Joan’s season despite it being one of the best the show’s produced in ages. With a lack of trust between Bachelor Nation and its viewers, the series has struggled to pull people in even though Joan’s journey has been something they’d be interested in watching. Sadly for Bachelor Nation, it’s been tough to keep the series afloat.

While Joan has been an incomparable lead who’s already been able to navigate some sticky situations, her time as The Golden Bachelorette hasn’t been as well noticed by viewers as it should be. Joan’s cast, which is made up of some wonderful guys who are looking for the love of a lifetime, has been living up to the standard set by the cast of The Golden BachelorEven Joan herself has been changing the game when it comes to the way that a lead is supposed to think and act on a Bachelor Nation series, but viewers haven’t been budging.

Longtime Viewers Are Done Until They See A Major Change

Although Bachelor Nation likely knows that Joan’s journey on The Golden Bachelorette would be something they enjoy watching, many are struggling to stay consistent with anything in the franchise. Longtime viewers have chosen to take a break rather than tune into The Golden Bacheloretteproving that they aren’t going to watch another Bachelor Nation show until they see some major changes made to the franchise. With lower-than-expected ratings, The Golden Bachelorette is suffering at the hands of the other shows in The Bachelor franchise, which is causing more questions about what viewers want to see on the shows moving forward.
