Joey kicked off The Bachelor season 28 by welcoming 24 single women. Among the women was Kelsey, a 26-year-old junior project manager from New Orleans. Since the night they met, Joey and Kelsey have been together a lot. They appeared to make a conscious decision to spend as much time together as possible after getting engaged, and they both dove into the relationship head first. Since getting engaged, Joey and Kelsey have been together a lot, but they've recently been spotted spending more time apart. Read on for more about what it could mean.
Joey & Kelsey Were Used To Being Together A Lot
They Both Went All In
No one can ever accuse Joey and Kelsey of doing things half way. From the moment they got engaged during The Bachelor season 28 finale, the two immediately gave their all to the relationship. In many ways, they're one of the franchise's best couples. They perfectly embody the promise and premise of the show. They prove that the process works, and that perfect strangers can fall in love, get engaged, and live happily ever after. Joey and Kelsey have a long way to go, but they're both clearly committed to being together.
After leaving The Bachelor season 28 as an engaged couple, Joey and Kelsey never wanted to be separated again. They decided to live together right away. Instead of moving to Hawaii, where Joey had been living, they decided to move into Kelsey's old place in Louisiana. She had several female roommates, so that was on the awkward side, but they were traveling alot, so they made it work. The weird living arrangement didn't last long, as Joey was offered a life-changing opportunity.
Joey was cast in Dancing With The Stars season 33. He and Kelsey packed up their lives and moved to Los Angeles, where the show films before a live studio audience. Joey shocked everyone when he and his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson, won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Joey and Kelsey continued to spend most of their time together, when another opportunity changed things. Winning the show further put Joey on the map, and he was offered a role on the DWTS live show.
Joey's Been On The Road
He's Been Dancing With Stars
As a tennis pro, Joey was an athlete before joining the cast of The Bachelorette season 20 and The Bachelor season 28, but his dancing skills were unexpected. Though it was Joey's third time appearing on a network reality show, the DWTS victory took Joey's celebrity status up to a whole other level. Joey really enjoyed the physical challenge of being a dancer, but he also liked the sense of friendship and camaraderie among the show's cast.
A brief scroll of recent Instagram photos posted by DWTSTourOfficial shows Joey beaming in every photo. He got used to dancing in front of an audience during DWTS 33, but traveling with a live show is a different experience though. The photos feature Joey and Jenna in various costumes, dancing to various numbers, including at least one big group number. The posts do a great job of selling the DWTS live show, and everyone seems to be having fun. It's no surprise that Kelsey, left behind in her and Joey's Los Angeles home, is looking on with self-described FOMO.
Kelsey Reconnected With Her Girlfriends
She's Not Waiting Home Alone
Unwilling to sit at home alone, Kelsey recently went on a weekend trip with some of her girlfriends and posted photos of the event on Instagram. There are several women from the cast of The Bachelor season 28, including Daisy Kent, Rachel Nance, Lea Cayanan, and Lexi Young. Kelsey maintains close relationships with many of the women who appeared in Joey's season. Though it may seem weird for her to be friends with women who dated her fiancée, they all share a unique bond that few could understand.
Did Absence Make The Heart Grow Fonder?
Kelsey Really Missed Her "Pookie"
Joey and Kelsey genuinely appear to like being together, and love experiencing new things together.
Joey and Kelsey are also very open and transparent about their relationships, and enjoy sharing their milestones with fans. These are just some of the reasons they're such a great representation of the show. For them, the absence of Joey being on the road working was a good thing. It's been over a year since Joey and Kelsey got engaged during The Bachelor season 28, and they could announce their wedding date at any time.
