The Bachelor season 28's Kelsey Anderson insists she's in a healthy relationship with Joey Graziadei, but is it all a facade? Facade comes from a French word meaning "false front", and Kelsey may be painting a pretty picture of her relationship with Joey, when the reality may be less rosy. Joey, a 28-year-old tennis pro from Hawaii, made his television debut as a contestant on Charity Lawson's season of The Bachelorette.
When Joey came in second place to Duton Olubeko, he was given a second chance at finding love on television when he was cast as The Bachelor. Kelsey, a 26-year-old junior project manager from New Orleans, Louisiana, was one of the 32 single young women chosen to compete to win Joey's heart. After a season of dates, cocktails, rose ceremonies, and tears, The Bachelor season 28 ended with Joey giving his final rose to Kelsey, along with a Neil Lane diamond ring. The newly engaged couple wasted no time moving in together, and they've been inseparable ever since.
Not only do they live together, they travel together, and have been building their lives together. They've even been working together to grow impressive careers as public figures and influencers. Things have been going well for the couple, both personally and professionally. Despite Joey and Kelsey's seemingly unshakable bond, there are signs Kelsey isn't happy sitting around waiting to marry Joey.
8Joey Is Getting Too Close With His Dancing With The Stars Partner
He's Dancing With Jenna Johnson
Soon after leaving The Bachelor season 28, it was announced Joey would compete on Dancing With The Stars. Joey had one strange demand before agreeing to do the show. In an interview with The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast, Joey said he requested a partner who was “in a successful and healthy relationship.” He was paired with Jenna Johnson, who's been married to Val Chmerkovskiy for the last 10 years. This odd request means there may be an issue with jealousy between him and Kelsey.
While Joey dances on Dancing With The Stars, there has been speculation Kelsey has struggled with jealousy while watching Joey and Jenna dancing together. Dancing is a very hands-on activity, and the two are all over each other. Kelsey has repeatedly denied allegations of jealousy, but it can't be easy watching her man dance passionately with another woman.
7They Have Yet To Set A Wedding Date
Kelsey's Patience Is Wearing Thin
Joey and Kesley got engaged at the end of The Bachelor season 28, which means it's been over 10 months since Joey put a ring on her finger. They recently addressed the controversy, saying they intend to pick a date sometime in the next two years, but no one could blame Kelsey for not wanting to wait for Joey to decide he's ready to move forward with his obligations.
This is, of course, assuming Joey's the resisting force.
There's always the chance Joey would love to get married right away, but Kelsey's the one holding them back from tying the knot. If Kelsey's the resisting force in the relationship, that's all the more reason to believe she's going to dump him long before they walk down the aisle.
6Joey's Had Money Issues In The Past
She's Afraid Of A Repeat
In June, Joey appeared on the Trading Secrets podcast, where he revealed he had missed some credit card payments while filming The Bachelor 28. Joey told the audience he had used the credit card to make an online purchase for the small amount of $100, and he simply forgot to pay it off. “I was at 730, and I went on the show and I had a payment from a credit card that I didn’t answer for two and a half months,” Joey said. “I dropped, like, 80 points.” He was shocked to come home after filming The Bachelor 28, to find that his credit score had tanked.
“ I was like, ‘I can’t even get into an apartment building. ’ Jesus .”
For her part, Kelsey said on the same podcast she felt like she had been playing catch-up financially since coming back from the show. Kelsey recently quit her job as a project manager but plans to go back to work eventually. For now, she's relying on Joey to support her financially. Though Joey has come a long way since when he was struggling after the show, Kelsey could be worried, that if she stays with Joey, they could find themselves in that situation again.
5Kelsey Isn't Sure About Moving To Los Angeles
Their Living Situation Is Up In The Air
After Joey and Kelsey went public with their relationship, they wanted to live together right away. Between appearing on Charity's season of The Bachelorette and his season of The Bachelor, Joey had been living with his sister. After they went public with their relationship, Kelsey asked Joey to move in with her.
At the time, she lived in an apartment with several other women in New Orleans. The situation worked for them at the time since they were traveling and rarely at home. Recently, Joey and Kelsey have been living in Los Angeles while Joey films Dancing With The Stars, but Kelsey may not want to live in Los Angeles long term. She had expressed interest in moving to New York, and the couple even tried it for a while before moving to Los Angeles for DWTS.
4Joey & Kelsey Are Too Online
Unnecessary Drama
Though Joey and Kelsey appear deeply in love, The Bachelor season 28 stars are playing with fire by being too online. With their relationship still so new, they should be focused on strengthening their connection, instead of growing their influencer careers. Kelsey is very different from the version of herself who joined the cast of The Bachelor season 28.
Back then, Kelsey worked in an office, and now she's a prominent influencer with a massive social media following. She currently has 747K Instagram followers and 531K TikTok followers, while Joey is no slouch at 858K Instagram followers and 531K TikTok followers. Being too online can create unnecessary problems in a relationship, and it may drive Kelsey away.
3Kelsey Changed Her Look
She Cut Her Signature Locks
In July, Kelsey posted a TikTok from a visit to the hair salon. The clip opens on The Bachelor season 28 star before the haircut, rocking her wild mane of long wavy hair, and then it cuts to shots of her during the styling session. The clip ends with Kelsey showing off her gorgeous new haircut.
Kelsey cut off at least six inches of hair and added lots of highlights. Though the change was subtle, it was symbolic. During an episode of The Bachelor, Joey told Kelsey to never "tame the mane." He loved her hair and wanted her to keep wearing it wild and natural. Kelsey's new look is decidedly more glamorous, which could be a sign she's less interested in Joey's opinions these days.
2They're Growing Apart
She's Pursuing Her Modeling Career

Joey and Kelsey have been attached at the hip since cameras stopped rolling, but there are signs the couple is growing in different directions. Kelsey walked in a fashion show recently, and The Bachelor season 28 star posted footage of the glamorous event on Instagram. In the clip, she wore a stunning light lilac gown fit for a princess and walked the catwalk with her hair flowing about her shoulders.
"September was a dream," read Kelsey's caption. "One of the highlights was definitely walking in the Sherri Hill fashion show." The post has 129K likes. With Joey dancing on Dancing With The Stars and Kelsey strutting her stuff on the runway, it may be a sign Joey and Kelsey are growing apart.
1Kelsey Wants More Children Than Joey Wants
Family Planning
During an interview with TV Insider, Joey and Kelsey find themselves in an unexpectedly awkward conversation about the number of kids they'd like to have. It started with Kelsey saying the best thing she learned about Joey since The Bachelor season 28 stopped filming was that he's a big sports fan. They both learned he likes the Green Bay Packers, while she's a Minnesota Vikings fan. Joey insisted their children would be Green Bay fans.
Joey and Kelsey's conversation about their future children was illustrative.
The conversation revealed The Bachelor season 28 couple don't seem to agree on the number of children they want. Kelsey said she wanted to have as many children as possible, and she even wanted to adopt, while Joey said he only wanted two or three children at the most. Differing views on family planning seemed like a big issue that might lead Kelsey to walk away from Joey.
