Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is reportedly serious about running for the championship this season, as revealed by a key team member of the Chiefs.

In a recent press statement, Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy revealed how Patrick Mahomes has practically begged to be coached harder than ever, as he has his eyes set for the Super Bowl this season.

“He wants to be great,” Nagy said after Tuesday’s training camp. “He wants to be the best. And he wants to be coached hard. So that’s what we try to do. We all see what he does out here, whether it’s people videoing plays on their phones at practice in training camp, but we see it in practice when it’s closed to the public.”

Magy also shared how Mahomes has been consistent on starting his game-week prep at 7 AM daily, and how he has meticulously worked on play calls and formations in practice.

The Kansas City Chiefs were not able to grab a historic Super Bowl three-peat, as they to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVIX. Although there were lofty expectations and great performances in the regular season, Patrick Mahomes struggled to get into a rhythm against the Eagles and their relentless pass-rush, and the offense could not overcome timely misplays in a hard-fought, close game.

Sources close to the team told the outlet that Mahomes and Kelce’s generosity is a reflection of the urgency and expectations this year for the Chiefs, particularly with that it might be one of Kelce’s last seasons playing in the NFL: “They’ve gone big again due to the importance of this season,” said a source close to the situation, showing just how far the two are willing to go.

The source added that if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl this season, Mahomes and Kelce pledged to send the entire team to Europe for an all-expenses-paid trip, and Ibiza and Sardinia are reported to be among the destinations on the itinerary.

Currently, Patrick Mahomes holds three Super Bowl championships and is in the elite ranks for being one of the only five quarterbacks with three Super Bowl titles as a starter.
