Teresa Giudice goes on public tirade against Gia's school principal after university releases document canceling grades and requiring retakes with surveillance cameras

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is fuming — and this time it has nothing to do with table-flipping or family feuds. The reality TV icon is taking aim at the administration of her daughter Gia Giudice’s university after the school issued a formal notice invalidating one of Gia’s midterm exam scores and requiring her to retake the test under high-security conditions including a private testing room and 24-hour video surveillance.

Teresa did not hold back when responding to the university’s decision which she labeled “disgraceful humiliating and a targeted attack on my daughter’s character.” In an impromptu rant posted to Instagram Live Teresa said “They are treating Gia like she’s some kind of criminal because she used technology to study. It’s disgusting. They’re turning this into a circus just because she’s my daughter. She’s being made an example of.”

The controversy began earlier this month when rumors circulated online that Gia had used AI tools to assist in writing a term paper for her political science class. The story gained national traction after a clip of Gia on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen went viral showing her casually stating “I don’t think AI writing should be banned — it’s just being smart.” That comment was met with intense backlash and sparked an internal review by the university’s academic integrity committee.

On Monday the school released a formal document outlining their decision to nullify Gia’s score and mandate a retake. But what’s drawing even more attention is the unusually severe conditions attached to the exam redo. According to a source close to the university Gia will be placed in a secured room with no windows no access to electronics and will be monitored by both a live proctor and a full-room camera setup. “We’ve never seen these measures taken for a single student before” the source admitted. “It’s unprecedented.”

Teresa believes the extreme response is rooted not in academic policy but in public image damage control. “They’re trying to prove a point by making my daughter the scapegoat” she said. “This isn’t about education anymore. This is about punishing her because of who her mother is and what show she’s on.”

The situation has sharply divided the public. While some social media users are applauding the university for enforcing academic standards others are siding with Teresa and slamming the school for what they call an excessive reaction. The hashtag #JusticeForGia has been trending across TikTok and X with fans pointing out that many students use AI tools in some form and that Gia is being disproportionately punished because of her public profile.

Gia herself has remained mostly silent but posted a cryptic message on her Instagram story Tuesday night reading “Being watched doesn’t mean being protected.” A close friend of the 23-year-old confirmed to Page Six that she is “emotionally drained humiliated and feeling completely isolated by the experience.”

Meanwhile the university has declined to comment on Teresa’s accusations citing student privacy policies but insiders say a second internal review is underway — this time not about Gia’s exam but about how the administration handled the media firestorm that followed.

As of now Gia is scheduled to retake the exam this Friday under the outlined conditions. But Teresa has hinted she may take legal action if the situation escalates further. “I’m not done” she said during her livestream. “No one attacks my family and gets away with it — not even a university.”

With cameras reportedly rolling for the next season of RHONJ Bravo insiders say this explosive academic drama may become a central storyline. “We thought table flipping was wild” one producer joked. “But Teresa going to war with a college administration might just be her fiercest battle yet.”
