Surprising Bold & Beautiful Return Threatens to Shatter One Happy Couple — and Put Their Bright Future in the Past

The Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t have Luna around at the moment to wave a gun and cry about her daddy. (She’ll be back, though.) So the show has to do something else to crank up the excitement. But what? This week, it’s returning Daphne to L.A. Which doesn’t sound like much of a game-changer, does it? Carter made his choice: Hope. He broke Daphne’s heart, and off she went.

So what intrigue could the perfumer’s comeback hold? A heckuva lot if, as Soaps.com editor Richard Simms speculated in June, Daphne comes back pregnant with Carter’s baby. As you well know, we never saw her and her amour surrender to passion. We also didn’t spend weeks afterward discussing “that night” till the cows came home (which would have been typical of Bold & Beautiful).

And therein lies the shock value. The show is actually going to pull a rabbit out of its hat by revealing that gotcha! It didn’t tell us the whole story of Carter and Daphne. It sure will now, though, as he will find himself torn between his love for Hope and his desire to be there for his one-night stand as she nears their baby’s birth day.

Complicating matters is the fact that Hope just came thisclose to losing ex-husband Liam. Considering their long and tangled history, she could elect to remove herself from Carter’s parent trap by rededicating herself to reuniting with Liam. Would Carter be able to give up the woman he loves to form a family unit with Daphne?
