The Golden State Warriors are holding the line on Jonathan Kuminga. And the latest trade chatter shows they’re not entertaining just any deal — even one with a high-level shooter involved.
According to Brett Siegel, the Phoenix Suns floated Grayson Allen in a sign-and-trade package for Kuminga. But the Warriors didn’t bite.
Allen, 29, had a strong year in Phoenix — averaging 10.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 42.6% from three. He brings spacing and defensive competitiveness, two things Golden State typically covets. But in this case, the fit — and the price — just wasn’t right.
Per Anthony Slater of ESPN, the Warriors continue to seek a first-round pick and a young, upside-driven piece in return for Kuminga. They’re not eager to absorb veteran salaries unless the offer truly moves the needle. So far, Allen doesn’t.
Once again, nothing is new on the Jonathan Kuminga front.
Kings offer has not changed, and there is no movement on that front from the Warriors.
Suns offer was mainly Grayson Allen, who the Warriors don't have interest in due to his contract.
New words coming shortly.

Warriors Playing Hardball With Kuminga
Kuminga, a restricted free agent, is in no rush to take the Warriors’ offer. He made that clear in a Thursday workout in Miami, telling Shams Charania that he hasn’t accepted any deal from Golden State and is continuing to explore sign-and-trade options.
Shams on the Kuminga saga:
"He did tell me though that he is in absolutely no rush on doing a deal with the Warriors right now and he is not accepting their current offers…the Suns and Kings are two teams that have made concrete offers with the Dubs over the last week or so" pic.twitter.com/Ua6n7CyBxU

The standoff has dragged through July and stalled the Warriors’ offseason. They’re the last team in the league yet to sign or trade for a player. And all roads lead back to Kuminga, who holds the keys to Golden State’s flexibility — or lack thereof.
Kuminga wants more than just money. He’s after a bigger role. According to multiple reports, including Charania and Slater, both the Suns and Sacramento Kings have made “concrete” offers and pitched Kuminga on a featured role with consistent starting minutes — something the Warriors can’t guarantee, especially with Jimmy Butler now in town.
Golden State’s Price Remains High, Despite Lukewarm Market
Kuminga showed real growth last season, averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over 47 games. His production peaked during the playoffs when Stephen Curry went down — dropping 18, 30, 23, and 26 points in the final four games of the series against Minnesota.
He’s not looking to be a fallback option again. And based on how hard his camp is pushing for a fresh start, the writing may be on the wall.
Still, the Warriors aren’t rushing into anything. The reported rejection of Phoenix’s offer suggests they’re willing to wait things out — even if the current market isn’t overwhelming.
Whether that patience pays off remains to be seen. But one thing’s for sure: they’re not letting the market dictate their next move.
