The Golden State Warriors ended their five-game road trip on Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets, and they were able to keep their hot streak alive.
Golden State had a terrible start to Thursday’s game as they trailed by as much at 22 points in the first quarter. Despite this, the Warriors were able to complete the comeback and pick up a 121-119 victory.
This now marks their third consecutive win and their eighth win in their past 10 games.
Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors against Brooklyn, scoring 40 points on 12-20 shooting from the field and 7-13 shooting from three-point range.
Curry dominated on the Warriors’ five-game road trip and head coach Steve Kerr made a loud statement about him after the game.
“Steph just had an incredible trip,” Kerr said. “Put on a show in every city.”
Kerr’s comments are right as Curry put on a show in all five cities Golden State traveled to during their road trip.
Of course, Curry began the road trip by scoring a season-high 56 points in Golden State’s victory over the Orlando Magic. He then followed that up by recording 29 points and 13 assists in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The superstar point guard then recorded another double-double with 21 points and 10 assists against the Charlotte Hornets then he put on a show at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks, recording 28 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.
Curry then closed out the Warriors’ road trip by scoring 40 points in their victory on Thursday against the Nets, capping off an incredible five-game span.
Golden State will now head back to The Bay for an extended seven-game home span that starts off on Saturday against the red-hot Detroit Pistons.
The Warriors hope that Curry can continue to produce as he has and help them extend their winning streak as well as continue to climb the Western Conference standings.
