The New England Patriots have already made some interesting additions and there is still plenty of time for more ahead of the 2025 season.

Sports analyst makes surprising prediction about the Patriots for the 2025 season

While no one is expecting them to be a Super Bowl team, head coach Mike Vrabel is truly showing that he and the franchise are taking this rebuild very seriously. And one sports analyst has noticed all the moves and is keeping an eye on New England this upcoming season.

“Patriots (are) one of my surprise teams in the league,” FS1’s Colin Cowherd shared on “The Herd” Friday. “They have the second-most talented quarterback in the division, I don’t think it’s particularly close, in Drake Maye. They’ve got to get him weapons in the draft, but it’s a very good tight end, running back draft. They upgraded with Mike Vrabel at (head) coach from Jerod Mayo, who just didn’t work. They spent a lot of money. This is just going to be a different team. I think they will double their win total, no question.”

The Patriots won four games last season in Jerod Mayo's first and only season as head coach. It was the same number of victories that New England got in 2023, which was Bill Belichick's final season.

But, Cowherd thinks the Patriots could be on track to get eight or more wins.

Of course, some of that does depend on the opponents. At home the Patriots will play the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. As for their away matchups, it is the Baltimore Ravens, Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Tennessee Titans.

It's a bold prediction, but it's encouraging the sports personalities are also high on the team. Especially since that's not been the case during the past few years.
