South Carolina Star Predicted to Land in NFC North After $300 Million Splurge

After a recent $300 million splurge, the Minnesota Vikings are predicted to be interested in the South Carolina Gamecocks' Nick Emmanwori during the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

The draft is already less than a month away, and projections are heating up. Athlon Sports NFL draft analyst Luke Easterling is predicting that Emmanwori would be a "dream fit" for the Vikings.

Easterling notes: "An ideal scenario and dream fit for the Vikings, who add some much-needed draft capital in the middle rounds, and still land the player they should have taken at their original spot. Emmanwori is a rare athlete with the size, athleticism, range and playmaking ability to wreak havoc in Brian Flores' defense."

The Vikings have certainly been busy. In just seven days in early March, they traded or signed as free agents 14 players for a combined total of more than $300 million, ESPN reported. And quarterback Aaron Rodgers' future remains a question.

On March 26, NFL.com reported that Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah shared, "Right now given all of our scenario planning, we're happy with our room and obviously we're going to talk a lot about J.J. McCarthy. But Brett Rypien who's someone we brought in last offseason and ... better athlete than people give him credit for ... we're excited about him. And we're always going to keep looking to see if we can upgrade that position, just like every other position."

As for Rodgers, NFL.com reported Adofo-Mensah as saying: "I think we got to a place where we just said, everybody was transparent, but right now we feel good about where we're going, and that's really how it ended. It's ultimately up to him (Rodgers), it's hard to talk about a player who's not under contract for our team and who isn't a member of this team. It's ultimately up to him what he decides to do with his future, but that's kind of where we left it."

Meanwhile, other NFL teams might be interested in Emmanwori too, at least according to Pro Day reports. Gerald Alexander, defensive back coach for the Steelers, spoke with Emmanwori before the on-field drills on Pro Day, 247 Sports reported. And the Falcons, Panthers, Seahawks, Dolphins and Bengals have also expressed interest in Emmanwori, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reported in an X post.
