Source Says Eagles 'Actively Pursuing Trade of Fan Favorite

Dallas Goedert appears to be on the way out from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles and tight end Dallas Goedert appear to be at an impasse when it comes to a potential contract extension.

His future with the team now appears all but coming to an end at this point.

ESPN's Tim McManus spoke Friday morning that Goedert's future remains clouded, that the vet is the "subject" of trade talks and the team is "considering" moving on.

"Meanwhile, league sources confirmed tight end Dallas Goedert has been the subject of trade talks," McManus said. "The combination of his age (30), injury history and average salary of $14 million per season has the Eagles considering moving on from their leading receiver from this past postseason."

Another NFL source tells us that the Eagles are "actively'' pursuing a deal.

Goedert's contract expires at the end of the 2025 season. He has been dealt a difficult hand in the fact he has been injury prone over the last few seasons as well.

At 30 years old, the former South Dakota State product doesn't have many elite years left at the position and the Eagles have major cap questions coming down the pipe in future years.

Philadelphia already let go of veteran stars like Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Darius Slay. Future extensions for defensive tackle Jalen Carter and other stars on the roster are incoming as a reason for it.

Goedert may be next. And according to McManus, that departure could be coming sooner than anyone anticipated. All eyes, at this moment, however, will turn to the NFL Draft to see exactly how long this goes on.
