Shaqir shared the news on social media, saying, “I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to Sacramento State University. I am incredibly grateful to Coach Bibby and the entire coaching staff for believing in me and offering this opportunity. I look forward to contributing to the program and representing Sacramento State.” It’s clear he’s pumped for the chance to grow his game and make an impact with the Hornets.

This is Shaqir’s third stop in college basketball, having previously played at Texas Southern before transferring to Florida A&M. Now at Sacramento State, he’ll have the opportunity to learn under Bibby, a former Miami Heat standout and Sacramento Kings legend. Bibby’s NBA pedigree and coaching experience could be exactly what Shaqir needs to take his skills to the next level.

Bibby, who knows a thing or two about running an offense, is already making waves with his new role at Sacramento State. Bringing in Shaqir highlights his ability to recruit promising talent and signals his intent to elevate the program. The connection between Bibby and Shaquille O’Neal adds an extra layer of intrigue to this partnership.

As the Hornets prepare for the upcoming season, all eyes will be on how Shaqir and Bibby work together to turn things around for Sacramento State. It’s a fresh start full of promise for both player and coach.
