The Iowa Hawkeyes are known for standout defensive backs including Cooper DeJean, who starred in Super Bowl LIX, helping lead the Eagles to the championship with a pick-six against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Eagles selected DeJean 19 years after the choice of former Hawkeyes defensive back Sean Considine, who played four seasons in the City of Brotherly Love, recording a career-best 86 tackles for the Birds in 2006.
Recently, Considine's son announced big news involving the 2026 college football season and his potential college choice.
Caden Considine, the son of Sean Considine, has received a preferred walk-on offer from his father's school according to HawkeyeReport.com.
The Byron, Illinois (Byron Tigers) based ATH (athlete)/linebacker is a versatile player with great ball skills who could find himself in a Hawkeyes uniform next season.
He got the offer last month and called it special.
"I didn't expect it at all, so it made it that much more special," Considine said to the website.
"Especially to have the opportunity to go to such an amazing program like Iowa where my father succeeded as well."
Caden Considine reports a 3.82 grade-point average and three Division-I offers.
The former Hawkeyes standout pinned his scholarship offer from North Dakota State University, now Division-I, to the top of his X account.
His father posted highlight video of his son at the Illinois Redbirds' football camp heading into July as he showed off defensive back skills his father became famous for during his time in the Big Ten and in the NFL.
Considine has plenty of time to make his decision, heading toward his last two seasons with the Tigers.
