Shockingly, the Chicago Bears have a coach on Tom Pelissero's annual coaches watch list

We are closer to Week 12 than Week 11, but I am still fuming over how Matt Eberflus coached his way into yet another loss. The Chicago Bears fought hard against the Packers, but due to a lack of intelligence at the end of the game, Cairo Santos' had his game-winning field goal blocked. Eberflus is a problem, Santos is becoming a detriment, and Ryan Poles needs to answer for some of this, too.

This is the second time this season that the loss should be hung more on the coach than the players. After firing Shane Waldron, Chicago promoted Thomas Brown to the offensive coordinator position, and in his first game the offense already looked different. The team looked to be in a better rhythm. They were making quick, highly efficient plays and it is a shame that the Bears ended up losing this game.

With how many coaches have resigned or been fired over the last one to two years, you wouldn't expect any of the current coaches to be recognized. Shockingly, there is a coach on this staff who is getting some national attention.

Every year, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network releases a list of young coaches who he believes should be on everyone's radar. The big name is obviously Ben Johnson, but there are definitely a few under-the-radar type of coaches too. I couldn't believe it though when I saw Thomas Brown on his list. We are not just talking about a notable mention either. Pelissero gives Brown his dues.

Pelissero has 22 names on this list and he had this to say about Brown.

"Brown now finds himself in a familiar position: taking over play-calling duties in-season for a No. 1 overall pick on a struggling unit. And while Chicago lost to Green Bay on a last-second blocked field goal last week, there were signs of progress. Caleb Williams had a 95.0 passer rating, 391 yards of offense12-for-19 on third and fourth downs and over 36 minutes of possession."

As I already said, it was pretty obvious to see how well the offensive unit was performing. Now, the offense needs to build on that going forward. Brown has a really good opportunity to showcase himself and potentially land with a team as the head coach. Honestly, I think Poles and Warren need to be bold, fire Matt Eberflus, and promote Thomas Brown to interim head coach. This way, they can see what they have in Brown rather than allowing him to just interview for the job in the offseason. Think of it as a sneak peek, if you will.
